Two-Point Perspective: shoot a building's corner

A building's corner. Its lines run to two vanishing points, one either side. Keep the verticals upright.

What it is

When you face the corner of a building, its horizontal lines run away in two directions toward two vanishing points, one off each side. This view shows two faces of the building at once and gives it volume and depth. It only works when the vertical edges stay vertical. Tilt the phone up and they lean together, and the building seems to fall backwards. Architecture photographers keep the camera level and step back to take in the roof. How to shoot it

Stand facing the building's corner at eye level, far enough back to take in the whole corner. The 0.5× or 1× lens often fits it best.
